Started messing around in this feckless, unforgiving medium this weekend. Then I use photoshop to cover up the 'hideous' parts, like my pants do.
And that it....Gonna have to be calling this beast done....for now. Theres still a ton of stuff not quite right yet (no background anyone?), but I'm gonna flip out if I keep looking at this peice. Its kinda like that scene at the end of 'The Never Ending Story", where Atreyu's horse gets all sad and then goes to sleep in the mud. You're kinda sad for a sec, but then you realize it's his freaking fault. He went to sleep in a fucking swamp.
Lots of big changes. Added more to the bottom to show a little more of Medusas' tail. Also, Perseus/Conan has gone from the frying pan to the fire. Still struggling with the face. I want it to look like he's not only getting constricted by the tail, but he's trying as hard as he can to keep his eyes shut. I might give him a sword so he still has a chance.
Turns out though, the rules state the guy has to be like 80% robotic, so against my 0% now, it looks like I'm gonna have to add some, you know, shiny crap.

Stole a drawing Eric posted on his blog cause it was cool and I wanted to paint it. I guess I'm sorta-kinda happy with it, though I think I tightened up the face a little too much, and it gets pretty 'side of my van' airbrushy in places. All in all, I give it a 6.5.
See me after class.
Yee-freakin'-haw. Time to celebrate. I thought I had lost all the work I did for our SFN sketchbook we did for WizardWorld Texas this year. Turns out no. Happy now. I present to you the cover I did for the book. I got to do the cover cause all the other guys agreed that I was the best artist ever and then they all gave me 20 bucks just for me being their friend.
